WHAT
A campaign made for the Danish homeless paper, hus forbi. The homeless sell the paper to survive.
WHY
We’re so used to seeing homeless people lying around that we don’t really remember how tough it is, especially in the winter. And so, when we forget, the number of sold papers plummet. Something unexpected was needed to catch the attention of the Danish people.
HOW
To get peoples’ attention, we put up 11 Dinner Cans (trash cans decorated with a classic dinner cloth and cutlery) around the city of Copenhagen. The cardboard sign attached to the Dinner Can says, “Some people eat out every night. Buy hus forbi and help the homeless put food on the table.”
EFFECT
Besides from popping up in the city, the Dinner Can also showed up on hus forbi’s Facebook site, immediately catching the eye of the beholders. In 24 hours, the lone picture was liked 2.500 times. But even more remarkably it was shared over 2000 times. And it’s still counting upwards as I’m typing these letters.
WHY WE’RE WRITING TO YOU
Because it matters. And we want to pass it on. Please share this to spread the message. And make a cold Christmas a little warmer for those who can’t always speak up for themselves.
